1. What Voomi is
Voomi is a platform that connects customers, drivers and partner businesses to request and offer taxi, moto-taxi, hourly service, delivery, pharmacy, parcels, freight and intercity trips.
Drivers are independent individuals. Voomi does not provide the transport or delivery service itself: it provides the tool for people to find each other and reach an agreement.
2. Your account
You must be over 18 years old. To create your account, you verify your phone number with a code we send you on WhatsApp. You can create a backup PIN in case the code does not arrive.
You are responsible for everything done with your account. If you think someone else is using it, close the session from the app, under Open sessions.
3. How the price is agreed
You propose the price. The driver can accept it, propose another one or decline. The price is agreed before the service starts and does not change during the trip, unless both parties accept it in the app.
4. Prices in US dollars and the BCV rate
All prices are expressed in United States dollars (USD) and always accompanied by their bolívar (Bs) reference. Voomi follows the official exchange rate published by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), which it obtains automatically from the ve.dolarapi.com lookup service, in order to remain compliant with current regulations.
Each transaction stores the rate that was used, and you can see it on your receipt. If the lookup service is unavailable, Voomi uses the latest official rate on record until service is restored.
5. Payment methods
You can pay in cash, Pago Móvil (Venezuela's instant bank payment from your phone), bank transfer or Binance Pay, when the driver arrives or before departure. If you pay in advance, you upload your proof of payment or reference in the app.
6. Cancellations and refunds
If you cancel after the driver has arrived, 15% of the trip is charged. If the driver cancels, you can look for another one at no charge. If you paid in advance and the service is not carried out, you can request a refund from the app.
7. The services
- Taxi and moto-taxi. On a moto-taxi only one passenger rides, and the rider always carries a spare helmet for you. Large or heavy items are only carried by moto-taxi riders who say so in their offer.
- Scheduling a trip. For a private trip, you choose the day and time. Drivers see it in advance and one of them accepts it.
- Stops. You can add up to 3 stops before requesting. The agreed price includes them.
- Hourly service, delivery, pharmacy, parcels and freight. Before requesting, the app shows what can and cannot be sent.
- Intercity trips. You book a seat on a departure posted by a driver. If the departure is cancelled, you pay nothing.
8. Drivers and their balance
Drivers top up a prepaid balance so they can accept services. A small fee is deducted for each completed service. The balance cannot be withdrawn and does not expire. It is shown in dollars and in bolívars at the BCV rate.
Voomi may give away services (for example, one for every certain number of completed services, a welcome bonus, a courtesy service with a zero balance, or for inviting other drivers). Current conditions are shown in the app.
9. Partner businesses
Partner businesses post orders as if they were customers. They are responsible for what they offer and for ensuring that the content of each order complies with the law.
10. Safety and conduct
We verify drivers' documents and faces. In the app you have an emergency button, trip sharing, trusted contacts and, if you turn it on, audio recording of the trip. You must treat other people with respect. We may suspend accounts for conduct that puts others at risk.
11. Account suspension and closure
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. If you believe it was a mistake, you can request a review. You can delete your account at any time from the app, under My account. See the Delete my data page.
12. Liability
Voomi does its best to keep the platform running continuously, but does not guarantee that it is free of faults. Voomi is not responsible for what happens between customers and drivers beyond what the law establishes for an intermediary platform.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we publish the new version and ask you to accept it the next time you open the app.
14. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. If you have any question, write to us from the Contact page.
